Tunisia first encounter: Tunis

After we managed to get out of the customs, after 9 hours of 9th grade storm on a boat from Palermo, the first thing that kept my attention was lights. Tunis is a lighted city. It is build near Mediteranean sea, in the north of Africa. It is a fast growing city. All freeways were surrounded by ex lagoons where now are construction yards. In fact all Tunisia is a construction yard. From the capital Tunis to the north of Sahara desert everybody build. But Tunis is the heart of Tunisia. From all population of ~11 million people ~7 milion are located in Tunis and in its suburbs.
Afer midnight all the daily crowd is moving to the resorts near the big city. The streets are empty.
Every tree is carefully trimmed and the lights are aeverywhere. First night we stayed in a hotel in the center of Tunis right behind a minister building. For 9 peoples it costs about 100$. Everything is cheap there.

Here is our home for the next 30 days: the green and fearsome van of Zaher.
